Tech N9ne is claiming a lawsuit against Strainge Entertainment, based on TMZ. The Kansas City, Missouri rap titan believes the newly-created label can easily be confused with his Strange Music imprint as a result of similarities in name.
Tech, who founded Strange Music in 1999, is suing the Los Angeles-based label for trademark infringement.
Strainge Entertainment reportedly surfaced in 2016 and it is housed under Universal Music Group.
Strainge Entertainment’s website describes the label as an “entertainment group ready to contribute to artist as well as their vision.” Artists signed beyond just the label include Reo Cragun, Third World Don, and Ohio singer/rapper Trippie Redd.
Demanding the profits Strainge Entertainment made from the name, Tech wants the label to alter their name and get rid of everything with Strainge Entertainment on it.
